Where do we draw the line between governing and operations? What are the 8 areas that the board is responsible for? How do we know if we are governing our organization successfully?
During this inspiring course, Deb provides the answers to all your questions on board governance.
This session serves as both an orientation to effective governance as well as a refresher for those who have previously received governance training.
What you will learn.
The following will be explored in three online modules or a full day in-person session with your board of directors:
Get clear on your role
What is your board’s role in good governance? What are bylaws, policies, terms of reference and what do you do with them?
Be more strategic
How do you handle your board’s year effectively and efficiently within your volunteers’ limited time? We discover the board’s annual work plan, meeting agendas and strategic plan.
Develop your people
How do you find the right people for your board? We talk about the recruitment and development of all your directors, having effective committees, and the senior staff person’s annual performance review.
