The purpose of the concert fundraiser is to help provide Critical Financial Support for Anne L. Carlson and Anne M. Carlson, two Vancouver Island women who share similar names and similar health challenges. Both are being treated for advanced stage Ovarian Cancer. 

This event will will provide a beautiful sound healing experience through the exceptional healing tones of Crystal Bowls, with angelic vocals and music presented by Mikeoula, Allanaha Dowe, and Sound therapist Nancy Watters. Access to educational information regarding Ovarian Cancer will be provided onsite.

Anne L. Carlson

Anne was born and raised in Victoria, BC, she is an accomplished Visual Artist and has a Fine Arts degree from the University of Victoria. She is also a Designer and Businessperson. Her productivity in working in the field she so loves has plummeted due to cancer treatment and all things related. She has been unable to operate her business as she endures this painful time. Not only has Anne’s medical situation been physically gruelling but it is also causing severe financial strain and debt.

Anne M. Carlson

Anne Marie Carlson was born in Victoria, worked in Vancouver as a non-profit administrator since 1990, bought a tiny home in Nanaimo in 2008 with the hopes of retirement, and was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer during surgery to remove an ovarian cyst in October of 2009.

She experienced recurrence in the GI tract which led to a bowel resection in 2012. Her cancer is classified now as stage 4 of a rare neuroendocrine cancer originating in the ovary - poorly differentiated high grade serous papillary carcinoma. Anne Marie has had no remission since her original diagnosis.
