The Connection Project Society
Mental Health Storytelling Event
Sat, October 28 - 7:00pm
The Connection Project is an annual storytelling event that celebrates the courage, strength, and resilience of those who choose to share their personal mental health story through various forms of artistic expression. Sharing from lived experience is a powerful tool for connection and healing because mental health challenges are isolating in nature and, in many cases, unseen. By storytelling through performance we hope to collectively reduce the stigma and normalize the mental health experience. We need human connection, our stories matter, and sharing is one way to cultivate healing. This event showcases beautiful and personal stories that continue to cast light into the shadows and uplift.

Disclaimer: Mental wellbeing may represent difficult lived experiences and stories that are uncomfortable to witness and may activate unwelcome emotions and unease. Our aim is to cultivate a welcome and inclusive environment within a safe community of care, while recognizing that we cannot meet everyone’s unique needs. We believe that education, information, and open conversation should be available to everyone. It is not our intention to provide guidance, advice, or medical or psychological direction. We invite you to take care and use discretion when choosing to attend and/or bring children/young adults to this event and understand and honor those for whom attendance is not possible.
*A Registered Clinical Counsellor will be available for support at the event, and our speakers are provided a safe and supportive environment before, during, and after sharing their stories.
